City Council

The City of Malibu is a general law city and operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The five-member City Council is elected at-large to serve four-year terms. The Mayor's office is rotated annually among all Councilmembers. As elected officials, the City Councilmembers represent the citizens of Malibu in the governing process and act on their behalf with regards to regional and local issues as well as State and Federal legislation. The City Council convenes regular meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each month and holds occasional special meetings. The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Attorney and City Treasurer/Auditor, as well as members of the City's Commissions, Committees and Boards.
