City Treasurer
The City Treasurer is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the City Council. The City Treasurer is responsible to the electorate for the custody of City funds and their disbursement upon order of the City Council, internal audits and investment of temporarily idle funds.
- Emergency Preparedness
In response to the numerous floods, fires, and storms experienced during the first decade of incorporation, the City of Malibu created the Emergency Preparedness program to develop the structure and training of City resources in preparation for future disasters. This program provides an annual training exercise to familiarize staff and volunteers with the functions of the EOC and their individual roles under various potential disaster scenarios. The City has also implemented an emergency decal program for residents, designed to facilitate community access in the event of major road closures.

The Treasurer's Office is responsible for investing surplus funds for the City. Annually, the City Council adopts an investment policy to direct the City Treasurer to purchase certain investment products as specified by State law.
