Guidelines for Residents
Every one of us lives in a watershed. The City of Malibu has 17 major watersheds and an even larger number of sub-watersheds. All the land area in your watershed drains to some body of water, either a creek or stream or directly to the ocean. Runoff, either from storm water or irrigation, travels through your watershed, picking up pollutants along the way, and depositing them, untreated, in the receiving water body.
YOU can have an impact on keeping your watershed healthy. By practicing healthy household habits, homeowners can keep common pollutants like pesticides, pet waste, grass clippings, and automotive fluids off the ground and out of the stormdrains.
